If you enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, desert flowers, desert wildlife, exploring new and often undiscovered areas of our deserts with a group of similar minded people, then then Desert Survivors is for you!

Star gazing in the clean and quiet desert night is an experience never to be forgotten! There are so many stars you cannot begin to count them. Hiking under the light of the moon is an experience you can master in the desert.

Begin to understand what the pioneers experienced when traveling on foot to California.

Your group leaders are well seasoned and knowledgeable of desert life and activity.

Desert Survivor members are of all ages and all backgrounds. No one is too old to hike the desert but good common sense and an understanding of your surroundings is required to make your trip enjoyable and entertaining.

Learn new navigation and map reading skills. If you enjoy maps, compass and GPS you will experience the excitement of really using your "high tech toys". If you are a high tech toy user your navigation skills are most welcome at Desert Survivors.

Desert Survivors members become part of a nation-wide network of savvy desert hikers and activists. Benefits include:

- Four quarterly issues of the Survivor
- Over 40 free trips per year in varying locations and difficulties. Trips are open to members only.
- Social events including potluck parties, picnics and slide shows
- Opportunities to get involved in all aspects of Desert Survivors, including preservation campaigns, hands-on   desert conservation projects, and building the organization.
- Numerous camping, hiking and/or overnight backpacking excursions throughout the year. Come with us for just once a year or 12+ times a year, the choice is yours. Membership dues are just $20/year, although additional donations are welcome.
