Sending Desert Survivors Website Material

I encourage you to send material to YOUR website and will do my best to get it posted quickly.

When sending material to the DS website here is what to do.

00.    We are here to have FUN! I encourage you to share your pictures, musings, poems, articles and whatever's...

0.    Send your pictures! If you have a digital camera and you took pictures during your trip, send them! There, isn't that easy? I prefer JPEG (jpg) for picture files. Most digital cameras will default to jpg files.

0. and a half.     If you are web savvy and know about sizing and making your picture files smaller, using zip and all that other jazz, then as Nike says, just do it. Thank You, it will speed the upload download process. If you have no clue what I am talking about, DON'T WORRY, send your pictures and we will all share in your fun!

1.    If at all possible send your text material as html files using MS Word or  FrontPage. Any other software that makes .htm or .html is acceptable. Set it up the way you want, the formatting you want, the font you want, the colors you want, are you getting the idea here? :-) Then email it to me. If done in this manner it will go up on the website immediately after I receive it. OK, so that easily takes care of at least 10% or so of you???

2.    If you cannot do step number one above, send me a MS Word document file. Note though, that if you do have the ability to send word.doc files you actually do have the ability to send .html files too. However this isn't a computer class so just send it.

3. If you cannot send your material per one or two above then send me what you can and I will do my best to make it work.

4. If you want your material on the website in adobe. PDF files that works well too.

5.    Send via email to webmaster@desert-survivors.org

6.    I will reply back to you when posted so you can make sure it looks the way you wanted.

7.    "Work in progress" pages, "meeting pages" for a small groups only and all the usual "stuff" that a website can do, may be done here also. Email me your special request and I will make it happen. If you want to upload your own material to the site for "group sharing", of a few pages, then you will need your own copy of FrontPage 2002 and know how to use it.
