With the DS Webmaster spending the summer in Alaska the website has not been updated for a while. However I have just found another way to update from "The Interior" and will get busy trying to catch up.
The Fall 2006 Trips are posted here.

Earth Day 2006 Party Information here.
Party Date: Saturday April 22, 2006
Join your fellow Desert Survivors at our 2006 Earth Day Party! We’ll enjoy plenty of good cheer and conversation. Meet your fellow members, talk about trips and experiences, find out about new destinations, meet new hiking buddies. We’ll also have the latest information on the desert issues we’ve been following. We’ll finish the night with an excellent slide show illustrating recent desert trips. Bring your slides, photos, stories, etc. to share with the group.

Please note that the DS WebMaster will be on an extended trip to Alaska from March 15 - September 20, 2006. Arrangements have been made for me to continue to update the DS website remotely but some delays may occur.

For many DS members it is that time of the year to renew your annual membership. For those members that have PayPal we are asking you to use the PayPal link on this website and renew that way. It really makes life easier for the accounting side of DS and saves a lot of time for those of us involved on the paperwork side. Of course we still like to receive snail mail too, just use whatever works best for you!
Thanks to the DS members that reported back to me that the text links work better than the previous java script buttons on the homepage. As time permits all buttons will be removed and we will convert to text links.

Due to continuing problems with Earthlink, our Internet Provider, I have removed the java script link buttons and now we are using pure text Hyperlinks to link each page. Let me know if you have any problems navigating the website.

On the upcoming trip page a new weather forecast box shows the current weather in the trip location for all the Spring 2006 outings. It looks similar to this:
Click the 5 day forecast button if you wish to get the AccuWeather forecast for your trip. The buttons will be customized for each individual trip showing the weather conditions at the nearest reported location. Plan and dress accordingly. This weather report is automatically updated every 30 minutes by AccuWeather.
At this time all the Spring 2006 trips have the linked weather forecast. If you have any problems please let the webmaster know. If this proves successful then all future trips will contain the weather forecast.

Hi and welcome to the Desert Survivors website for 2006. Your webmaster is Dave Launchbury and I will do my best to keep us all up to date even though I am (or soon will be) in Fairbanks, Alaska.
The Spring 2006 Trip Schedule has been posted on the website. Start making your plans now as some of these trips fill very early.
